Access Reports

The Access Reports page provides analytics and visualization of physical access control events. It shows trends, heatmaps, and user/device breakdowns for access control usage.

Overview​

Access Reports include:

  • Summary Cards: Total events, granted/denied counts, unique users
  • Trend Chart: Access attempts over time
  • Heatmap: Access frequency by day of week and hour
  • Top Users Chart: Most active users with granted/denied breakdown
  • Device Breakdown: Access counts per device
  • User Breakdown: Access counts per user

Date Range​

Start Date: Beginning of report period (default: 30 days ago) End Date: End of report period (default: today)

Quick Range Buttons:

  • 1D - Last 24 hours
  • 7D - Last 7 days
  • 30D - Last 30 days
  • 90D - Last 90 days

Load Data: Click to apply the selected date range and reload all reports.

Summary Cards​

Four summary cards at the top of the page:

Total Events: Total count of all access events in the period

Granted: Count of successful access events (green), with success rate percentage

Denied: Count of failed access attempts (red), with percentage of total

Unique Users: Count of distinct users who attempted access

Charts and Visualizations​

Trend Chart​

Line chart showing access attempts over time:

Series:

  • Granted (green): Successful access
  • Denied (red): Failed access attempts

Insights:

  • Normal access patterns
  • Unusual spikes in denied attempts (potential security concern)
  • Access frequency trends

Access Frequency Heatmap​

Shows access patterns by hour of day and day of week:

Axes:

  • X: Hour of day (0-23)
  • Y: Day of week (Sun-Sat)
  • Color intensity: Access count (darker = more activity)

Insights:

  • Peak access times
  • Unusual after-hours access
  • Day-of-week patterns (weekday vs. weekend)

Top 10 Users by Access Count​

Stacked bar chart showing the 10 most active users:

Series:

  • Granted (green): Successful accesses
  • Denied (red): Failed attempts

Insights:

  • Which users access most frequently
  • Users with high denial rates (may need credential reset)

Access by Device​

Table showing access event breakdown per device:

Columns:

  • Device - Access device name/location
  • Granted - Count of successful accesses
  • Denied - Count of denied attempts
  • Total - Total access events
  • Success Rate - Percentage of successful accesses

Access by User​

Table showing access event breakdown per user:

Columns:

  • User - User name
  • Granted - Count of successful accesses
  • Denied - Count of denied attempts
  • Total - Total access events
  • Success Rate - Percentage of successful accesses

Use Cases​

Security Review​

Monitor for potential security threats:

  1. Set date range to last 7 days
  2. Check summary cards for high denial rates
  3. Review heatmap for unusual after-hours access
  4. Check Top Users chart for users with many denied attempts
  5. Investigate anomalies

Access Auditing​

Verify compliance and track usage:

  1. Set date range to audit period
  2. Review Access by User table for complete user activity
  3. Review Access by Device table for location-based analysis
  4. Use trend chart to identify patterns

Credential Issues​

Identify users who may need credential resets:

  1. Check Access by User table for low success rates
  2. Users with many denied attempts may have forgotten PINs
  3. Contact users to verify and reset credentials
